Farewell, Giulietta Simionato
Much to everyone's surprise, a pornographer's life isn't just about... porn. Our passions, fights, friends, families imbue our filmmaking no less than the boys we film. And so allow me to remember Giulietta and pay tribute to her musical genius: so many personal memories (of Simionato and Tebaldi attending every other LaScala events in my teens), so many historical, unforgettable recordings. THANK YOU for your Azucena, thank you for your Santuzza.

Indeed, a great Santuzza. And a grand lady. I also met her at La Scala and in her apartment around the corner, where she spoke quiet frankly of love, art and sex. (And how it all belongs together.) I'm sure she would have been proud to be the first opera singer (in history?) to be remembered on a porn site, surrounded by all the gorgeous men.
"A grand lady" indeed. Same words my dad had (he used to manage the "Biffi Scala" in those years). Not sure she's the first mezzo to be remembered on a porn blog. But for sure you're the first scholar to openly contribute to it, LOL
